C’mon NSAA… TIME TO SHARE A STORY, A LAUGH, AN ANECDOTE ABOUT ONE OF OUR NSAA MATES!
As you are no doubt aware, one of our speaker legends Ron Tacchi has been fighting Leukaemia for some years. Ron recently sent out a general email and has asked that we circulate the information to his NSAA mates”, I have paraphrased it for you and ask you to join us now by getting involved with Ron’s Blog we have set up:
In depth testing and several expert opinions has confirmed that the Leukemia has returned and I have six to eight weeks to live if I take my pills and do little else. As if I had a choice! Walking to the bathroom and back, I have to stop to take little rests – and it ain’t that far!
Seriously, I don’t know what happened. The stem cell replacement last July was a huge success and everyone was smiling. I seemed to be getting stronger and was told to rest more. I may have overdone it a little because in November it hit the wall and I started sliding backwards at a great rate of knots. Weight loss – no appetite – no energy.
The other side of the story is I am OK with all this. When you figure I was first diagnosed with Terminal Leukemia and given only weeks to live back in August “07, I have had a pretty good run since then and most of it at a good “quality of life” level.
When I take my pills and lie back to rest, I can pick my thoughts and recreate with amazing clarity the very best times and places and people at whatever age. I’m just sorry I can’t share that with each of you.
Anyway, I don’t mean to ramble on but what I am also saying is I really don’t need any visitors. Trish has organised Palliative Care here at home for me for the coming weeks and this might take a little of the pressure off her as well.
Email is the best: Ron@RonTacchi.com.au or Trish at: pattyarlene@gmail.com
The only postal address to use is: Unit 6, 123-125 Macleay Street, POTTS POINT, NSW 2011
So, sometime around Mid March, there might be a little party in Sydney and a chance to meet some fun people if you plan to be in the area.
Thank You for being in my life.
Ron
We have set up this special blog so we can all laugh, share good times and for Ron to enjoy from his bed, why not get involved now?
Kind Regards
